The Harrogate Advertiser will be hosting a 'Hustings' in advance of the General Election for all the main candidates in the the Harrogate and Knaresborough constituency.
The candidates taking part are:
Helen Flynn - Liberal Democrat
Andrew Jones - Conservative
Mark Sewards - Labour
Greig Sharman - Green Party
All the main party candidates have now confirmed they are able to attend the hustings, at the Cedar Court hotel in Harrogate on Tuesday, May 30.
This is a public event with no need to register in advance. It runs from 6pm to 7.30pm. Doors open at 5.30.
The event is being staged jointly by the Harrogate Advertiser, the Harrogate District Chamber, and the Federation of Small Businesses. We have teamed up in an effort to reduce the number of debates being held in the shorter time scale leading to the General Election on June 8.
In previous General Elections, around 250 people have attended the Harrogate Advertiser Hustings, and we hope we might attract a similar number this year.
Editor of the Harrogate Advertiser, Jean MacQuarrie said: "It's important for voters to have an opportunity to question the candidates in an open forum, and find out where they stand on the major national issues - and the local issues too.
"There is no need to register attendance in advance - just come along on the night and be ready to quiz your candidates."
