Leading cabinet member to leave role at Harrogate Borough Council

A leading member of Harrogate Borough Council is to stand down from the cabinet.

Coun Rebecca Burnett is leaving her role as Cabinet Member (Planning) to devote more time to her work at Harrogate Bus Company where she leads the marketing and comms team for Transdev Blazefield.

Succeeding her will by councillor Tim Myatt. Tim represents the High Harrogate ward and works in Public Affairs at Yorkshire Water.

Prior to that, like Rebecca, he worked in the office of Harrogate and Knaredborough MP Andrew Jones.

Before the 2018 local elections Tim represented the Marston Moor ward before he bought a house in Harrogate.

He has been a Vice Chair of the Scrutiny Commission and is currently Chair of the Human Resources Committee.

Tim is married to Zoe and, like Rebecca, is 30-years-old.
