Following the handover from Harrogate Borough Council to Rossett School, Josh Lyon, formerly a duty manager, is working to return the centre to its community links.

Getting in touch with previous users and trying to keep up regular bookings, Mr Lyon is also calling for the community to get involved in planning the future of the sports centre.

He said: “Rossett Sports Centre has a lot of history and is held in great affection by the Harrogate community.

“While we know from experience that some activities are hugely popular, we would like to hear about those which perhaps haven’t been offered before, or were dropped from the programme some time ago which people want to see being offered again.”

Although the centre has now fully re-opened to the public, an official event will be held in November once more refurbishment work has been completed.
