Before submitting a planning application for the new high school building, which is expected to happen in mid-December 2014, the event allowed parents, students, and the general public to have their say.

Executive head Andrew Bayston said: “The community engagement event looks at the site strategy, the positioning, and the aspect of the buildings, and the design is well underway.

“We are aiming to provide a modern learning environment that can be well-equipped with up-to-date technology and a building that facilitates that.

“We are on a fast schedule and I am pleased that is the way it is going. There is a pace to the project.”

Leadership at the school has been working with the EFA from last summer, having weekly meetings with contractors and architects.

The site strategy and layout will be available for viewing at the meeting.

See next week’s Harrogate Advertiser for a full report of the consultation.
