A PUBLIC meeting will be held in September for anyone interested in alternatives to Government cuts.
Organised by the newly-formed Harrogate Action, it will look at issues including the planned closure of Bilton Library, the state of the roads, poor public transport services and changes to pensions.
It will take place on September 26, when speakers will be Lyn Costelloe of the Little Red Bus; environmentalist, trade unionist and bus users’ group member Dave Houlgate; and Karen Weaver, director of Harrogate and Area Council for Voluntary Services.
The group will also discuss Harrogate’s part in the 75th anniversary of the Jarrow March, planned to come through the town on October 6.
Meanwhile, the group’s next regular meeting will be held at the Harrogate Catholic Club on July 18 at 8.15pm.
