Warren Coates elected to Wetherby Town Council

Wetherby Town Council has welcomed a new Town Councillor for the West Ward following a recent By-Election.
Mr Coates successfully secured the seat following the By-Election and now steps up to serve the community in an official capacity on the Town Council.
A highly engaged figure in the local area, Mr Coates has resided in the wider Wetherby area for 35 years and has been a resident of Wetherby itself for the past 20 years. He is a local business owner and is active in charitable work.
Councillor Coates is passionately dedicated to making Wetherby a more prosperous place to live and a better place to stay. He is also the Chair of Trust Networking, a local non-profit networking group which has collectively donated almost £18,000 to a variety of local charities over the past four years.
"I've been involved with a number of community events and groups, including managing the Under 13s and Under 17s at Wetherby Junior Football Club, introducing girls' football at the club, and then going on to be the club treasurer and latterly a fully qualified referee, so football is a big part of my life," Councillor Coates said. "I've also volunteered to steward with the annual bonfire and various Welcome to Wetherby events over the years."
Wetherby Town Council Mayor, Councillor Connor Mulhall said: "We are delighted to welcome Warren to the Council. His long-standing connection to Wetherby, his perspective as a business owner, and his proven dedication to local causes through his charity work offer a uniquely valuable skill set."
Councillor Coates will take up his duties immediately, focusing on local issues and collaborating with fellow Councillors to enhance the quality of life for all residents and visitors across Wetherby.
