CooperVance Recruitment won the Ambition award - “for a micro-business which might be small but which is perfectly formed, with an ambition to go even further” – and Illiya Vjestica of The Presentation Designer won the Next Generation award for a dynamic business owner under the age of 35.

Louise Turner, of Awards Writers who created the awards, said: “When researching Yorkshire awards for SME clients I was astounded that there was nothing that showed off their achievements.

SMEs make up 99.7 per cent of the businesses in Yorkshire, yet all the awards were focused on businesses with turnover in the multi-millions.

“In my opinion that doesn’t do justice to the massive contribution small businesses make to our economy and I wanted a way to show that just because we’re small, doesn’t mean we can’t work for and with big businesses.”

The BiY Inspired Awards received more than 100 entries and more than 70 people attended the awards lunch at Leeds’ The Met Hotel.
