'Warm welcome' from Knaresborough's independent business community for launch of new restaurant
The opening of a new independent restaurant today in Knaresborough has been welcomed by the town’s business community.
Reacting to news of the launch of Vomero at Castle Courtyard, Knaresborough Business Collective posted on Facebook: "Some very exciting news and a big welcome to Knaresborough, a new Italian restaurant right in the heart of our lovely town.
“Vomero is officially opening its doors this Friday and we can’t wait to welcome it and for it to become part of this amazing community!
The hope is that the new business can overcome the challenges caused by the expenses of running a restaurant nowadays, not only in Knaresborough but nationally.

Vomero is located in the spot vacated by the popular Two Brothers Grill and Pizzeria, which closed down in January 2025 in the face of the relentless rise of business rates and costs.
At the time, the “heartbroken” owners spoke of “failing to overcome the challenges caused by the expenses of running a restaurant nowadays.”
The new venue will operate as an Italian salumeria and deli during the day, serving fresh paninis and coffee, before transforming into an Italian trattoria in the evening, offering pizza, pasta and wine.
A spokesperson for Vomero said: "We can’t wait to welcome you and to become part of this amazing community!
"A daytime deli, perfect for a fresh panini and great coffee, and by night, a cozy Italian trattoria with pizza, pasta and wine!
"We're eagerly looking forward to seeing everyone and raising our glasses together!"
Castle Courtyard in the former Old Town Hall building is home to a range of independent businesses and eateries.
Vomero restaurant accepts both advance bookings and walk-ins.
Customers can book a table by calling 01423 610922 or emailing [email protected].
