Specsavers Harrogate says it is 'proud to be lead sponsor' of BedFest celebration of beer, food and live music
The sponsor has been announced for this year’s Knaresborough BedFest with a rich array of live music acts and street food.
The locally owned and run Specsavers store on Beulah Street in Harrogate is to sponsor the annual fundraising event for Henshaws for the fourth year running.
First held in 2013, BedFest is a full-day celebration of beer, food and live music that brings the community together alongside the iconic Knaresborough Bed Race, with every ticket helping to support people with sight loss and disabilities across the North of England.
Taking place on June 13, from noon until late, at Henshaws’ Art and Crafts Centre in Knaresborough, the event will showcase an exciting range of live music, along with a variety of local street food and a licensed bar featuring local breweries.
Local music acts appearing this year include Captain and the Bear, DJ Rory Hoy, Drop Leg Steppers, Hellfire Jack and Rufus Beckett.
With tickets starting from £12, the funds raised from the festival will support Henshaws’ dedicated work helping visually impaired individuals, as well as those with other disabilities, to gain independence and enjoy life to the fullest.
New for this year, BedFest welcomes well-behaved furry friends and introduces a kids' area where children can play the classic fairground game, Hook a Duck, and have the chance to be transformed into their favourite characters with a face paint artist.
Clare Cunningham, fundraiser at Henshaws, said: ‘We’re thrilled to welcome everyone back for BedFest.
"It’s such a lively, feel-good day where people can enjoy brilliant music, delicious food, and a great festival atmosphere, all while making a real difference in the lives of the people we support.
"We’re hugely grateful to our headline sponsor and long-term supporter of the event, Specsavers Harrogate.”
Andy Bryer, retail director at Specsavers Harrogate, said: ‘On behalf of the team, we are proud to have been BedFest’s lead sponsor since 2022.
"It’s a fantastic event and is an excellent way for the community to unite and support local businesses and artists.”
