Singers provide close harmony in the hall

St John’s Church hall recently hosted a marvellous evening of entertainment provided by the Harrogate Harmony Barbershop Chorus.

The Knaresborough audience enjoyed singing along with tunes from the past 50 years including, Country Roads, When I’m 64, Hello Mary Lou, Ain’t Misbehaving and On the Sunny Side of the Street.

A spokesman said: “Whilst the guests enjoyed their wine and cheese, the programme included an amusing monologue and a delightful solo of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s song Love Changes Everything.

“The entertainment was further enhanced when the chorus’ ukulele quartet, the Misspent Ukes, performed the Everly Brothers’ song Dream, followed by a Sing Along Medley and the well-known George Formby song Leaning on a Lamppost.

“The Harrogate Harmony Barbershop Chorus is a friendly group of male singers who enjoy performing in the Barbershop, close harmony style.

“Rehearsals are on Wednesday evenings from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at St Paul’s Church rooms on Victoria Avenue, Harrogate.”
