Retired vicar’s signathon challenge

A retired vicar will be bidding to raise funds for a Sign Language translation of the Bible by doing a Signathon.

Rev Michael Sabell started his Signathon on Sunday September 13 and will be signing every day at 11am for one hour at Holy Trinity Church, Dacre Banks until Friday September 25.

Rev Michael, who has been helping in the parish of Dacre with Hartwith & Darley with Thornthwaite, was born severely deaf himself and holds a world record for non-stop signing (12 hours).

While he doesn’t feel able due to age to challenge his own record, he would like to do 13 hours. Sponsor at: [email protected] or go along and donate.
