Remembrance Sunday parade changes in Wetherby
Wetherby Town Council said a closed ceremony is currently being planned with no parade, march past, live music or singing.
Clerk Iona Taylor said: “Wreaths will be laid at the war memorial on behalf of the town by the Deputy Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire, Alex Shelbrooke, MP, Coun Neil O’Byrne, Mayor of Wetherby, Edna Hilditch BEM, President of Wetherby & District Royal British Legion and Major Tom Smith, Chairman of Wetherby & District Royal British Legion.

Hide Ad“Other wreaths will be laid on behalf of, or by, Wetherby’s community groups and organisations after midday on Remembrance Sunday and before 11am on November 11.
“Members of the public are encouraged to observe the usual two minutes silence on their doorsteps at 11am, as a way of remembering those who have made the ultimate sacrifice and who we will never forget.”
