Premier Foods sign up to deal with children’s hospice

Manufacturer Premier Foods is set to support Martin House Hospice Care for Children and Young People as part of a new national partnership with Together for Short Lives, the UK charity for children’s palliative care.

To celebrate the start of this special deal, Premier Foods has put together care hampers that have been delivered to children’s hospices up and down the country, including Martin House, filled with Premier Foods cupboard essentials and treats to support hospice care workers and families during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Aiming to raise £200,000 over the course of a two-year partnership, each Premier Foods site will be twinned with their local children’s hospice, so the funds they raise will support children and families in the communities where they live and work.

Martin House, which cares for babies, children and young people with life-limiting conditions from across West, North and East Yorkshire, will be supported by Premier Food’s bakery in Carlton, Barnsley.

David Wilkinson, HR & Communications Director for Premier Foods, said: “We’ll be engaging colleagues across our whole business behind the partnership, supported by our network of Charity Champions who are responsible for vital fundraising and awareness initiatives.”

Premier Foods staff are raring to go with lots of virtual and traditional fundraising and challenges as well as a ‘donation station’ for unused items to be donated.

Lucy Pickford, head of relationships and strategic partnerships at Martin House, said: “We’re delighted to benefit from this new partnership, and look forward to working with our local Premier Foods site over the next two years.”
