Officials pay tribute to HRH Prince Philip
Representatives of the Wetherby and district branch of the Royal British Legion, Salvation Arm and Churches Together, joined councillors and the Mayor of Wetherby Coun Neil O-Byrne for the tribute.
A council spokesman said: “The response to this event has necessarily been scaled back due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.”

Hide AdThe Mayor, together with Jeremy Burton, Deputy Lieutenant of West Yorkshire and Captain Yvonne West, Chair of Churches Together laid following the death of the Prince and the Garden of Rest, in Wetherby, was used for the public to leave flowers. These were removed the day after the funeral.
Wetherby Lions paid tribute at the Garden of Rest, and a spokesman said: “Lions clubs around Britain and the world will miss a man whose lifetime of service to others and the environment reflected the Lions motto of “We Serve”.”
