Not your usual Cinderella story is all set to be Whixley’s best panto yet
Tickets have simply flown out for this year’s panto by a village near Harrogate which have been promising this “wasn’t your usual Cinderella story."
Having been launched on Thursday, January 22, all three remaining performances of Cindy-Ella the Pantomime by Whixley players appear to be sold out.
Taking place at Whixley Village Hall, this home-grown production is packed with familiar faces, community spirit, and that unmistakable Whixley warmth.
With toe-tapping tunes, cheeky jokes, local laughs, and more mayhem than a Whixley Bake-Off, Cindy-Ella has been billed as the pantomime this village deserves.

But this isn’t your usual Cinderella story.
When undercover police officer Cindy-Ella is sent to investigate suspicious goings-on at Mallory Towers, home of the wicked Miranda and her vile twins Belinda and Betsy, she soon discovers that things are not what they seem.
Her father, PC World, has vanished without a trace, and somewhere in the village lies the truth behind his disappearance.
Thankfully, she’s not alone.
Though her colleagues might make you wonder if she’d be better off without them.
There’s the ever-enthusiastic but completely clueless PC Gurt Grafton, who’s as loyal as he is hopeless; a troop of bumbling constables (Clod, Wobble, Bodge, and Plonk - need we say more?); and, of course, the larger-than-life Hairy Godfather, part Hagrid, part Al Pacino, all heart and hilarity.
Add in Mrs Bertie from the bakery, Annie Allotment, the squabbling Hoppertons of Hopperton Hats, Pat Butcher from the butcher’s shop, and a chorus of contract-working mice - and you’ve got a Whixley full of suspects, songs, and side-splitting silliness.
Meanwhile, over at Allerton Castle, Prince Alan (a muscled hunk with a passion for animals and crime stories) and his royal parents, Father Pippin and Mama Cinders - yes, the original Cinderella herself - are preparing for the annual Winter Ball.
But when Cindy’s investigation leads her straight to the castle gates, she might just find more than she bargained for…
Get your magnifying glass and your best detective hat ready, Whixley panto is back and this year it’s a case of magic, mischief, and missing persons.
