North Yorkshire shines as AA reveals top spots for family holidays

North Yorkshire has been named in the top four destinations for family staycations in the UK.

Devon is the county with the most family-friendly hotels outside of London, but North Yorkshire and Cumbria were joint second with 18 hotels each offering family facilities.

In North Yorkshire, 100% of family-friendly hotels offer highchairs, while 94% offer cots and child-friendly menus or portions.

It is a further boost for the area in a traditionally quiet time of year - yesterday we revealed how Whitby was the number one resort for a staycation in Britain in 2019, according to holiday rental agency Snaptrip.

The Top 10 destinations for family-friendly AA-rated hotels are:
