Sgt Paul Cording tweeted about the kind gesture, writing: "Last week I got a call from the amazing folk at @krispykremeUK & today as part of their #ServingSmiles campaign, they visited us at #Harrogate Police Station. An incredibly kind gesture & on behalf of us all at @NYorksPolice. Thank you so much #TrafficCopsLoveDoughnuts."

Boxes of the sweet treats were also donated to staff working hard to get the NHS Nightingale hospital ready, which is set to open tomorrow.
