Just days until launch of Harrogate Christmas Fayre 2025 for festive shopping and family fun
It’s less than a week until Harrogate’s famous Christmas Market returns for 10 days of festive shopping opportunities and Christmas cheer.
This crucial part of the festive calendar for the public and businesses has been supported by North Yorkshire Council and its predecessor authority since 2021.
When is Harrogate’s Christmas Market?
The Harrogate Christmas Fayre will take place from Friday, December 5 to Sunday, December 14.
Mondays to Saturdays, 10am-7pm.
Sundays 11am-4:30pm.
Where does Harrogate’s Christmas Market take place?
In the pedestrianised areas of Cambridge Street and Market Place in Harrogate town centre.
What can shoppers expect at Harrogate’s Christmas Market?
A range of shopping and food and drink chalets will be available for people to visit, selling a wide variety of products, gifts, food and drink.
The popular Candy Cane Express Road Train is also set to return to transport market goers around the town during the fayre’s opening hours.
What is the aim of Harrogate’s Christmas Market?
To bring significant benefits for Harrogate town centre businesses at a crucial time in the calendar.
North Yorkshire Council’s executive member for open to business, Coun Mark Crane, said: “Events such as this bring people into Harrogate town centre, as well as attracting visitors for festive breaks.”
Statistics show that, over the past four years, there has been an increase in both the number of people visiting the town centre and those staying in hotels and local accommodation.
What does the public think of Harrogate’s Christmas Market?
Analysis of last year’s event, undertaken by Harrogate Business Improvement District (BID), showed the vast majority of people were in favour of the fayre and felt it was a great way to welcome in the festive season.
In the review, which was carried out earlier in 2025, 79 per cent of respondents said they supported the fayre and the overall offer in the town over the festive period.
Meanwhile, 81 per cent said the locations of the stalls and attractions had worked well and they felt there was a great overall atmosphere, which brought the town centre to life.
