Hundreds set to light up Harrogate for hospice’s Moonlight Glow Walk
More than 400 people are already signed up for the fundraising event, with last-minute registrations welcome
Hundreds of people are expected to light up the streets of Harrogate tomorrow (Saturday, October 17) as Saint Michael’s Hospice’s Moonlight Glow Walk returns.

More than 400 people have already registered for the popular fundraising event, which raises vital funds for the hospice’s care and support for local people affected by terminal illness and their families.
Walkers will set off from St John Fisher Catholic High School, with a choice of 5km and 10km routes.
Registration opens at 5.30pm, with music, entertainment and a warm-up ahead of the walk’s 7.30pm start. People can still sign up on the day.
The event, previously known as the Midnight Glow Walk, returns with an earlier start time and a new 5km route alongside the established 10km challenge, making it accessible to more participants.
Walkers are encouraged to wear bright clothing and glow accessories, which will be available to buy on the night.
For many, the event is an opportunity to remember a loved one, celebrate someone special or join friends and family in supporting a cause that affects so many people in the local community.
As an independent charity, Saint Michael’s relies heavily on public donations to fund its specialist care and practical and emotional support for patients and their families.
Last year, 600 people took part in the walk, and the hospice hopes this year’s event will build on that success.

Linsey Trower, head of fundraising and marketing at Saint Michael’s Hospice, said: “We’re so excited to welcome our community back for this year’s Moonlight Glow Walk and to bring people together for such a special evening.
“Whether you’re walking in memory of someone you love, celebrating someone special or simply coming along to enjoy a great night and support your local hospice, every person taking part helps to make a real difference.
“As a charity, we rely on the generosity of our community to help us continue providing vital care. We hope people will join us, light up the night and help to make this year’s event bigger and brighter than ever.”
Further registrations will be accepted on the day, although merchandise will be subject to availability.
