Hector’s walk for NHS

Wetherby schoolboy Hector Dee decided to walk six miles in six days on his sixth birthday after being inspired by Captain Tom Moore.

Wetherby schoolboy Hector Dee decided to walk six miles in six days on his sixth birthday after being inspired by Captain Tom Moore.

And so far the youngster, who goes to Rose Court primary department of The Grammar School at Leeds, has raised nearly £4,000 for NHS Charities Together.

Mum Georgina Dee, said: “Hector asked if we could do something to raise money for the amazing doctors and nurses.”

He was accompanied by his mum and dad, Georgie and David, and little brother Eliaja, aged 4, and has received messages of support from Captain Moore.

Hector started out with a modest target of £36 which has been revised a few times since.
