Christine Stewart, chair of Starbeck in Bloom and a tireless worker for a range of good causes in Harrogate ranging from Harrogate Theatre to Yorkshire in Bloom, was awarded a British Empire Medal in the New Year's Honours List before the Covid pandemic broke.

During the crisis, royal honours are no longer being presented at Buckingham Palace for obvious reasons.
