Family firm Rooster's says it will reopen its doors once the Government gives the green light but is already working on ways to maintain social distancing.

Renowned for award-winning beers including Baby-Faced Assassin, Yankee and Twenty Four Seven, Roosters' recently opened new plant at Hornbeam Park is ideally placed to reopen in a way that not all of Harrogate's bars boasting a large tap room, a spacious sample room and spacious outdoor area at the rear with bench tables.

Rooster's commercial manager Tom Fozard said he felt reopening would be difficult for some in Harrogate's bar scene.

He said: "I feel for those pubs and bars that might not be able to cope with social distancing, without it causes major operational headaches.

"At Rooster's we’re planning to open the Taproom once we’ve been advised by the Government that it’s appropriate do so, which, we’re lead to believe, will be in July."

Mr Fozard said the priority was avoiding doing anything which could put customers at risk as lockdown eases.

He said: We’re currently working up various ideas to make sure we make best use of the space we have available to us, to ensure social distancing can be observed as best as possible and to limit any possible risks to our customers and staff feel alike.

"We’ll be making as much use of our beer garden as possible, while we also have the luxury of The Sample Room upstairs to make use of, too.

"Other ideas are being kicked around at the moment too, but, until we settle on our exact approach, I don’t want to mention something that might not be the case."
