Harriet Cairns, 23, is still hoping to attract more donations after running two marathons in two days around Harrogate, completing a 4-4-48 challenge where for 48 hours she ran four miles every four hours at 11 o’clock, three o’clock and seven o’clock both day and night.

Harriet said: "The amount of support and interest in my fundraiser has been amazing.

"But I would like to see if it’s possible to raise greater awareness of the fundraiser and the great work the Trussell Trust organisation do, as well.

"As food banks have become stretched to their limits during the ongoing crisis, I am raising money for Trussell Trust and their network of food distribution centres supporting vulnerable people across the UK."

Sleep deprivation proved an obvious problem as Harriet tackled her challenge. But so far her efforts have raised £1,300 for The Trussell Trust, an a NGO and charity which works to end the need for food banks in the UK, supporting a network of more than 1,200 food bank centres nationwide.

Harriet is leaving the page open and hoping for some more donations in the coming days.
