It's one of Harrogate's biggest events of the years - and funniest - and this year's line-up is being hailed as the best to date.
The programme has been unveiled for the 18 laughter-filled days when Harrogate briefly becomes the comedy capital of the north.
This year’s Harrogate Comedy Festival, the tenth, starts on Wednesday, October 3 but tickets are already being snapped up for many of the shows.
As well as household names such Sarah Millican and Ross Noble, there’s also a wealth of top comedians including Sara Pascoe, Nish Kumar and Harrogate’s Maisie Adam.
The festival’s New Comedian of the Year competiton will also be back, having discovered up-and-coming stand-up comedy acts in recent years such as Mickey P Kerr who reached the final of ITV’s Britain’s Got Talent show earlier this year. But the comedy festival is not the only highlight in the autumn/winter programme for shows at Harrogate Theatre and the Royal Hall.
The forthcoming new season will also see ‘rep’ back at Harrogate Theatre for the first time in years via the HT2018 Rep Company, which will be presenting three plays in September.
'In Person’ talks include Michael Palin, Neil Oliver and James Martin.
There will be a world premiere of a new play called The Turk, presented by Michaal Sabbaton and Harrogate Theatre. And this year’s panto will be Jack and the Beanstalk.
