Ex-BBC Radio 1 breakfast presenter's Children in Need challenge is coming Ripley's way
A former BBC Radio 1's breakfast show presenter is to visit Ripley Town Hall as part of an epic 135 mile challenge for Children in Need.
BBC Radio 2 drivetime presenter Sara Cox is currently walking and running 135 miles across the North from Kielder Forest to Pudsey in Leeds to fundraise for the annual charity appeal.
Lancashire-born Cox, whose listening audience figures are in the millions, will be staying in Ripley as a stopover in her challenge for Children in Need to walk/run from Northumberland to Leeds.
If all goes according to plan in her Great Northern Marathon Challenge, the radio and TV broadcaster and author will arrive at Ripley Town Hall on Thursday, November 13 between 6.30pm and 7pm.

Now owned by the community after a successful £400,000 buyout earlier this year, Ripley Town Hall is to open its bar and offer the celebrity presenter hot drinks and refreshments.
The popular broadcaster, who has been one of the UK’s best-known radio presenters for nearly 30 years, has set herself the ultimate goal of delivering the Children in Need mascot, Pudsey Bear, to the town of Pudsey.
Sara Cox first rose to fame when she replaced Zoe Ball as presenter of the BBC Radio 1 Breakfast Show in December 1999.
She quickly grew listening figures from 6.9 million to 7.8 million listeners, earning Radio 1 its largest ever breakfast audience.
Children in Need will take place on Friday, November 14
Sara’s progress is being followed by BBC Radio 2.
