Charities given bee bombs gifts

Two local charities have received wildflower seed packs from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire as part of its community work.

Thistle Hill Care Centre in Knaresborough and Autism Angels, of Sicklinghall, along with Northallerton’s Restarting Hearts, received 10 packets of seeds from BeeBombs to help brighten up their local area.

The seed packs have been carefully selected to help protect bees and will result in blossoming flowers as warmer weather arrives.

Steven Ball, Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire, said: “This Easter we wanted to spread a little bit of joy and send out some seed packs to local causes.

“After a tough winter in lockdown, I think everyone is excited for hopefully some better weather allowing people to get outdoors more.

“Our community outreach programme sees us identify and donate to the causes close to our developments on a regular basis.

“This can be anything from a monetary donation to books for schools and the most recent Easter seed packs which we’re sure will put smiles on faces as the flowers grow.”

Mark Shelton, Activity Coordinator at Thistle Hill Care Centre said: “We want to say a big thank you for the Easter seeds donation from Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire.

“Our residents will enjoy planting the seeds in our garden and watching the flowers blossom.”

The charities were carefully selected by Taylor Wimpey North Yorkshire to reward the fantastic work they do for the local community.

“At Autism Angels we love to see our families getting out into nature, relaxing and enjoying time in our beautiful environment,” said Sarah Shearman of Autism Angels.

“Thank you so much for the donation of seeds. Our children and families will really enjoy planting them and watching the wildlife enjoy them as they blossom.”
