He has produced bright wheelie bin stickers, which carry a message of thanks, and they are proving popular.

“I advertised them on social media and I was surprised at how many people thought it was a great idea,” said Paul.

“I gave the first few away for free but then had to cover my costs. They cost £2 and 50p goes to a local charity.

“Over 30 Wetherby residents have ordered 56 stickers so far. It is quite tricky to put the sticker and plastic covering on so I offer to put them on myself.”

He added: “It’s been great meeting so many lovely Wetherby folk who seem quite cheerful despite the worrying times we live in at the moment.

“Thankfully, it’s an outside job so social distancing is not a problem.”

Local businesses have also used the stickers as posters to thank their customers as well as key workers.
