BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den is to showcase pitch from Harrogate-based glamping business
The co-owner of a well-known Harrogate-based glamping business is to appear on BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den.
James Martin, Founder and Managing Director of North Yorkshire-based outdoor leisure brand Glawning, will appear on the hit TV investment programme next week.
Run by husband and wife team James and Sarah Martin, the award-winning business specialising in high-quality glamping awnings has grown rapidly since the couple launched it in 2013.
The pair of VW enthusiasts were simply looking for a more luxurious way of camping with their vintage campervan.

The rest is history and Glawning now boasts a unique Facebook community and its own annual Glawning charity festival called Glampfest held near Knaresborough.
Last year also saw the couple launch the first-ever Van Life Awards with a judging panel including campervan-loving comedian Johnny Vegas.
During next week’s episode of Dragons’ Den, which will be screened on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, viewers will see James Martin presenting Glawning’s unique luxury tents and campervan awnings to Peter Jones, Deborah Meaden, Touker Suleyman, Steven Bartlett and Jenna Meek, sharing the story behind the company and its growth within the outdoor and camping community.
Speaking after filming on the show, James Martin said: “What an intense and unforgettable experience, and a great opportunity to showcase our business to viewers. I’m looking forward to reliving it from the comfort of my own sofa."
Viewers can tune in on Thursday, February 26 to see how James fares in his pitch.
