Playhouse Comedy: the next production at the Playhouse is an Alan Ayckbourn farce, How the Other Half Loves. The fun revolves around the antics of three couples and their complicated relationships. An ingenious piece of staging allows us to see the sitting rooms of two of the couples on stage at the same time, with hilarious results. Comic confusion abounds as the razor-sharp Ayckbourn wit is mercilessly applied to their hapless lives. How the Other Half Loves will be presented in the Playhouse Tuesday, November 20 – Saturday, November 24 at 7.30pm, with a matinee on Saturday, November 24 at 2.30pm. Tickets priced £8 are now available at The Playhouse on Saturdays 2-4pm, or by ringing 0781 696 1854 2-6pm Mondays - Saturdays.

Help needed: Moorview Rescue urgently need to repair the roof which is leaking badly in the rescue quarantine area. If they cannot sort this out they will not be able to take any more dogs. They have no funds available for a new roof and are asking whether anyone may be able to help them get the roof water tight until they can raise enough funds to replace it. They currently have seven dogs in there as there is no where else for them to go. The situation is dire and getting much worse due to the weather.

Glasshouses WI: at our last meeting on October 10 we all had the opportunity to try some life drawing. Alan Denyer, a local artist came and showed us the basics, then we all had a go. Working from a live model we became more confident as the evening progressed and produced some amazing results. Glasshouses was the venue for the group meeting the following week. The speaker was Neil Gillis who spoke to us about his life in the Fire Service. This was a very interesting and informative talk which included a few surprises and big bangs.
