Musical Mayhem: on Saturday, July 6 Pateley Bridge was treated to Musical Mayhem, a relaxed afternoon and evening of music and fun with the Nidderdale Community Choir and Orchestra. Together with a number of guest artists and groups, the event showcased the enthusiasm and talent of everyday folk in Nidderdale who enjoy singing and playing music in a relaxed no pressure environment. Many of the performers have never sung in a choir or played an instrument since leaving school. They just wanted to get together and have a good time. During the course of the day nearly £1,000 was raised for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. This event would not have been possible without the time, energy and support of a whole host of local businesses and the community in general. And special thanks to all the performers, to the folks who baked cakes, washed pots, served tea and drinks, cleared up, decorated the hall and generally mucked in.

The community orchestra meets Tuesday evening 6.45-8.45pm at Nidderdale High School and the community choir on Thursday evening 7-9pm in the Memorial Hall.
