A night of live Music: is to be performed at the Pateley Club on Thursday, July 4 at 42 High Street, Pateley Bridge. Free entry, but we will pass the hat. Guests welcome. Bar open at 8pm. Cake Stall: Pateley Bridge Junior Football Club will hold a cake stall on Saturday, July 6 at the bottom of Pateley Bridge High Street, 8am-noon or until the cakes run out. The aim of the morning is to raise funds for the club and awareness of what it offers young footballers. After a successful inaugural season with three teams, under seven-years, under nine-years and under 11-years, competing well in the local Nidderdale League, the club is now looking to expand with a new under 12 age group. Anyone interested in any age group, boys and girls, can come along to the cake stall to find out more, or contact Damian Brockway (07837 674680 DamianB@amvoc.co.uk). Volunteers Needed: Moor-View Rescue has so many dogs in their care at the moment that they are bursting at the seams. With so many dogs which are needing lots of care and attention due to neglect, volunteers would be very welcome who are willing to take some dogs out for long walks. Friends of Pateley Bridge Cemetery and St Mary’s Churchyard: there is still a chance to enter this years fundraising quiz, Name that Tree. On sale in outlets throughout the town and at How Stean Cafe. Please support this worthy cause and help preserve our burial grounds for the future. Entries need to be returned to Barbara Breckon, 27 Greenwood Avenue, Pateley Bridge, HG3 5LS by Monday, July 1 and the draw will take place on Friday, July 5.

Glasshouses WI: at our last meeting the members divided into teams and competed in a treasure hunt. We collected clues which took us around the village. The trail finished at the Birch Tree Inn where we enjoyed a well deserved meal and presented the prize to the winning team. The winners were The Young Ones who received a bottle of wine. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, July 10. We are meeting at 7.30 at The Nidderdale Museum, where Dorothy Newall will talk to us about The History of Hats. Come and join us, visitors and new members are always welcome.
Charity Festival: at Pateley Bridge showground on Sunday, July 21, noon- 4pm. A charity extravaganza with over 40 stalls, a barbecue, live music and entertainment for all the family. Free entry but donations for car parking. Come and find out about the charity work going on in Nidderdale and celebrate the contribution made by our local volunteers. Listen to the music provided by Reeth Brass band and St Cuthbert’s school band, enjoy the food and drink available and explore the big variety of stalls including tombola, cakes, crafts and books. There will also be a bouncy castle and face painting for children.
Pateley Bridge with Bewerley in Bloom Group: there will be an emergency meeting of the group at 7.30pm on Monday, July 22 at Pateley Bridge Town Council Chamber. The meeting is called to discuss and implement the disbanding of the group and the disposal of its assets. All are welcome.
