Cinema in the Dale: the next film, Midnight in Paris will be shown on Saturday, April 13 at 7.30pm. Written and directed by Woody Allen, the film won both the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay and the Golden Globe Awards for Best Screenplay; and was nominated for three other Academy Awards in 2012. The following film on May 11 has been changed and will now be Les Miserables – tickets will go on sale on April 13 at the showing of Midnight in Paris and thereafter at the Pateley Bridge Pharmacy.

Art Exhibition: by Pateley Bridge Art Club at St Cuthberts School, Friday, April 5 – Sunday, April 7, 10am-5pm. Preview evening on Thursday, April 4, 6-8pm. Contact 01423 780921.

Fellbeck Luncheon Club: the last meeting before the autumn is on Monday, April 8 at the Half Moon Inn, 12 for 12.30. All welcome.

Pateley Bridge Cricket Club: will be holding a race night at The Crown, Pateley Bridge on Saturday, April 13 commencing at 9pm. Nidderdale Business Association AGM: the AGM of the Nidderdale Business Association will be held on Monday, April 22 at 7.30pm at The Pateley Club, High Street, Pateley Bridge. Following the AGM Katy Penn and Jane Fowler of the Nidderdale Plus Partnership will present the results of a recent business survey in the area; this will be followed by Andy Barton, founder of Compass UK, business coaches, and a former Business Adviser with Business Link, who will speak on the work of the Skipton and Ripon Enterprise Group and what it can do for local businesses. Members of the general public are most welcome to attend this meeting.

A night of live Music: is to be performed at the Pateley Club tonight, Thursday, April 4 at 42 High Street, Pateley Bridge. Free entry, but we will pass the hat. Guests welcome. Bar open at 8pm, the evening runs 8.30-10.30pm. Featuring Dariush guitar and vocals, Sara Sleight guitar and vocals, Ade Payne and Mike Perry guitarists and vocals , performing originial and other popular songs. Glasshouses WI: at our last meeting we were given an informative talk by Kate Osborne from Farrow and Ball in Harrogate. She began by explaining to us how their high quality paint and wallpaper is produced. She then demonstrated to us how to blend and contrast colours when decorating our own homes, using photographs as examples. We all found this to be a very interesting talk and each of us went home with a goody bag. The competition of a painted stone was won by Judith Smithson. Our next meeting is on Wednesday, April 10 at 7.30pm in the Broadbelt Hall. Our speaker is Helena Tudhope, an experienced physiotherapist, who will be talking about her experiences and giving us a few practical tips. The competition, which will be judged by Helena, is A Medical Item. Why not come along and meet us. New members are always welcome.

Concert: by Reeth Brass Band at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall at 3pm on Sunday, April 14. Free admission but there will be a retiring collection on behalf of the band and the memorial hall. Tea, coffee and biscuits will be available in the interval.

Glasshouses & District Gardening Club: the next meeting will be held in Dacre & Hartwith village hall on Thursday, April 18 at 7.45pm. The speaker will be Jackie Giles who will be speaking about The History of Barnhaven, Primroses. The meeting will include the AGM.
