Rusty Pegs in Pateley Bridge: fans of country music are in for a treat, as York-based country band The Rusty Pegs make a one-night-only visit to Pateley Playhouse on Saturday, February 23 at 7.30pm. York’s favourite country band feature songs by Mary Chapin Carpenter, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash, Glen Campbell and many more, as well as fine harmonies and some great guitar work. Tickets are only £7, and can be obtained by telephoning 0781 696 1854 2-6pm Monday-Saturday. If there are any tickets left, theyll be available on the door.

Local Dramatists for the Playhouse: works by local writers feature in Yorkshire Mixture to be presented at the playhouse from Wednesday-Saturday, March 6-9 at 7.30pm nightly. Pateley Bridge playwright Keith Burton has written a piece for the Nidderdale Drama Festival which is to premiered at the playhouse alongside monologues and duologues by Grassington-based Keith Bromley. Keith Burton’s play, The Journey, is a powerfully written two-hander whose story intriguingly unfolds on a bus journey into Leeds. The witty and well crafted pieces by Keith Bromley offer humour and insight, all in all, it promises to be a night of top-quality entertainment. Pateley Bridge Dramatic Society AGM: will be held in the playhouse on Monday, February 25 at 7.30pm. All are welcome to attend, but please note that only paid-up members of the society are allowed to vote on issues.

Cinema in the Dale: James Bond - Skyfall on Saturday, February 23 at 7.30pm at Pateley Bridge Memorial Hall. Tickets are now on sale at Pateley Bridge Pharmacy.

Glasshouses & District Gardening Club: the next meeting will be held in Dacre and Hartwith Village Hall tonight, Thursday, February 21, at 7.45pm. The speaker will be Martin Fish and his subject will be New Season, New Beginnings, inspiring us to get underway for a fresh season in the garden. Fellbeck Luncheon Club: the next meeting is on Monday, March 4 at 12 for 12.30pm at the Half Moon Inn. We welcome back Margaret Waterson who will give us another one of her excellent slide shows.

Womens World Day of Prayer: this years service will take place at Wilsill Methodist Church on Friday, March 1 at 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome, including men. The service has been prepared by women in France and will be used around the world that day.

Nidderdale Society Walk: the next walk will be awalk around Darley on Tuesday, February 26 starting at Stocks Green, Darley at 10.30am. The leaders will be Kevin and Kaye and the walk will be four miles long.There is no charge. For more information contact 01423 780946.
