Footnet Sports: continues next week in the second week of the Easter holidays - week 2 multi-skills Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday, April 8,9, 10 all at Pannal School for boys and girls aged six-12 years old. Golf Club: on April 21 Pannal Golf Club will be holding a taster day for anyone interested in joining the club. It is open to golfers of all ages and abilities, or to anyone who is thinking of taking up the game, especially juniors. Pannal School sports results: some great results from our local primary school. The gymnastics teams competed in the Harrogate finals on Tuesday, March 19 they all did really well with the Year 3/4 team finishing in 2nd place and the Year 5/6 team winning the trophy which earns them a place in the North Yorkshire finals in June. Also our Year 6 netball team won the Harrogate finals at Ripon so are now through to the North Yorkshire finals in July.

Harrogate and District netball league: are running a Back2Netball session at Ashville College starting on Thursday, April 18 from 7 to 8pm for six weeks, it’s a £3 pay as you go, so any parents, aunties, grandmas who fancy getting fit and having fun come along and join in, all abilities welcome, for more details contact Charlotte Smith 01423 503894

Pannal Women’s Institute: meets again on April 9 at 7.30pm in the village hall. This month’s talk is by Trevor Kent and is entitled Reading Meters. The following day, Wednesday, April 10, Pannal WI will be holding an afternoon tea from 2-4pm in St Robert’s Church Chapter House, Pannal, to raise funds for the local charity, Dementia Forward. The tickets are £5 each, contact Dianne on 01423 873211 for yours.

Pannal Wives: meet on April 17 at 7.30pm in the Chapter House of St Robert’s Church. This month’s talk is with Sir Thomas Ingilby and is entitled Castle Life in the 21st Century. Guests cost £4 per evening.

Pannal Friendly Club: meet on April 23 at 2.15pm. This month’s talk is by Philip Broadbank and is entitled The Royal Hall.

Pannal Mothers’ Union: next meeting is on May 1 and will be an interesting talk about Nemo Craft by Susan Hart. This meeting is also one where we are encouraged to “sow the seeds” of membership, thereby increasing the membership of the Mothers Union. As such anyone who is interested in joining or just coming along for an interesting talk, please get in touch with me via the above email address and I will give you details.
