A heartbroken pet owner is appealing to the thieves who stole her treasured sausage dogs to bring them back.
Three-year-old Roxie and six-year-old Queenie, from Jennyfield, were stolen from the garden of a house between Spofforth and Knaresborough on August 21, 2012.
Now, a year and a day after they disappeared, their heartbroken owner is pleading again for their safe return.
“I’ve been working all hours trying to find them ever since,” she said.
“I’ve put posters up, set up Facebook groups, I’ve tried everything.
“I think they were stolen for breeding. My hope is that now they’ve had them for a year, they can give them back.
“I don’t care what state they’re in, I just want them home.”
The 27-year-old, who lives in Harrogate, said the dogs were stolen from her mother’s garden after thieves broke into their kennels.
Despite numerous police appeals, nothing has been seen of them since.
And Queenie, who has a slipped disc, needs medication to help her cope.
“I’ve had them since they were born,” she said. “They’re lovely.
“I’m just hoping that whoever has them sees this article and gives them back. I’ve done everything I can think of to get that message out.
“They are dearly missed.”
She has put up posters around Knaresborough and Spofforth, where they went missing, and listed their details on missing dogs website DogLost.
Now she has set up a Facebook group asking people to come forward with information. On it, Roxie and Queenie are described as black and tan female Dachshund Miniatures.
