It is disappointing to read the reported comments of the Care Commission and the effect this may have on local residents and the proprietors of Nydsley.

We were fortunate enough to have anaged relative as a resident of Nydsley for at least five years and visited the care home weekly and dealt with the owner / manager throughout that period. Our relative was well looked after, well fed and all was very clean. The rooms were very satisfactory and all staff were polite and friendly. The general atmosphere was a friendship with all residents. The view from the lounge toward the river and bridge was pleasant and our relative could walk to town, with freedom as the town and recreation ground was very close. Nydsley has provided a valuable asset to Pateley Bridge and Nidderdale for over 20 years and an important asset has now been lost. We would like to thank the owner/ manager and staff of Nydsley for their facility and hard work over this time and sympathise with them on the negative attitude of the inspector.
