Thanks to all those who helped us during Knaresborough feva this year.

We had more volunteers than ever, with people assisting with the organisation of the festivals, and with mounting events.

Thanks, too, to all of the performers - in whatever guise, and at whatever age - who turned out to keep us all regally entertained. We can boast an involvement of folk from three to 80!

The festival is a major undertaking with this year 91 events, shows, workshops and activities of all types staged during the 10 days.

Look in the manual of ‘how to promote community life’ in towns such as Knaresborough and you will find that staging an arts and entertainment festival appears at the top of the list.

It is great that Knaresborough really does take this idea to heart and feva is our answer, with the difference being that we stage our festival during the summer school holidays.

As an idea it has caught on and this year feva attracted thousands of visitors from near and far to attend our events, as well as providing much for families to do during August.

It is also a wonderful platform for talent from our own community, whether it be music, dance, the written word or artwork.

I am always amazed at how skilled and energetic are the residents of this town and I am sure feva has done much to encourage the development of this.

We will be back next year. In the meantime we are always keen to have people join the organising committee or to help to put on a show of their own.

We will go to press with our programme next year before the end of March so we need to hear before then.

As always, www.feva.info is the best way to be in contact.

Thanks again to everyone who helped, especially those who sit on the festival’s organising group.
