Letter: Brexit - MP right to back the government
The referendum was a national vote. The UK voted as a whole and the decision was final.
Voters had been told clearly that it would be implemented. Whatever we each thought, that is what our nation decided and demanding a re-vote, or trying to hamper the government in implementing our exit, is like asking that a general election be re-run because you didn’t like the result.

Hide AdThe SNP in particular are being really ridiculous about this.
Their countrymen voted clearly to remain part of the United Kingdom and the UK then voted as a whole in the Brexit referendum.
It is totally irrational to claim that the Scottish vote should now be seen as somehow separate.
So, whether we like it or not, the remainers’ argument was lost in a democratic process that must be respected. We now move on.
