Letter: Article 50 - Disappointed in MP's vote

I will be one of many very disappointed with the vote in Parliament on Brexit by our MP, Andrew Jones.

Reading between the lines, he clearly does not believe that Brexit is good for the country. His justification for voting in this way seems weak.

Democracy can be used as an argument in many different ways, and, on this occasion, how I wish that he had voted with his conscience.

It seems that he voted against his better judgement, and against the wishes of the majority of his constituents, who voted ‘Remain‘. He may have saved his political career, but he has let us down.

My identity is British, and also European. ‘Brexit’ is trying to rob me of the latter.

The large numbers of us who believe in the European ideal will not simply disappear.

I am hoping for a Lib Dem revival in Harrogate.

They have represented us well in the past, and can surely do so again.
