There’s one star act Leeds Festival will have to do without this weekend. One of the world’s top rappers Tyler, the Creator says he has been banned from the UK because of the nature of his lyrics.

The Odd Future co-founder has cancelled all four of his scheduled dates in the UK and Ireland, including an appearance at Reading/Leeds Festivals this weekend.

The controversial rapper tweeted that it was because the authorities were unhappy with his subject matter.

Leeds Festival is the biggest music festival of the year in the north and the Harrogate Advertiser’s team will be there throughout the weekend.

With closing night headliners Metallica said to be planning the biggest, most expensive and most spectacular live show in the event’s history for this Sunday, August 30, Leeds Festival 2015 promises to be an absolute cracker.

Some reports even suggest the veteran metal band are having a full gym installed back stage to keep in shape before their big moment in the spotlight.

There’s also a Harrogate singer on the bill this time round - up and coming electro-pop artist Katie Skinner, 22, who is to perform on the BBC Introducing stage.

As for the Advertiser’s reporters - Laura Hill, Graham Chalmers and Nina Swift they will be at Bramham Park reporting throughout the weekend through social media and www.harrogate advertiser.co.uk
