As summer approaches we will soon be getting to work on issue three of HT Magazine '“ our own annual magazine designed to tell stories '˜beyond the stage' at Harrogate Theatre. Have you seen a copy?

The magazine was conceived of three years ago. Our traditional seasonal What’s On Guide has an important job of listing all the upcoming shows we programme across the town. Many of you still love our printed guide – we do too! However, it tells you about our shows but it doesn’t tell you anything of our much bigger story.

HT Magazine has two very different objectives – 1: to reveal the wider portfolio of work at Harrogate Theatre, and 2: to pay tribute to the history and heritage of this stunning 118-year- old building.

Within the pages of the issue two – released last autumn - we talked about the work we do with young people through our programme of year-round education and outreach activity; we talked about our Associate Company Scheme and the artists and companies we support with the development of their own work; we talked to our staff, volunteers and board members about their roles and why

Harrogate Theatre matters to them; we interviewed cast members from Harrogate’s homegrown pantomime; and we took you on a step back in time with our piece on the history of Harrogate Theatre – packed with stories from the endless corridors full of history and magic.

We’d want people to know that we are not just an entertainment venue: at our core sits the arts and we support, promote and nurture creativity in many different ways. HT Magazine is our main tool to shout about that.

As we get to work on issue three, we want to know what YOU would like to see within it. We want to talk more about the amazing people who work and volunteer here. The people behind the scenes are so important and we want to put them in the spotlight. We’d also like to tell you more about our incredible award-winning Scenic Services team, who build theatre sets for productions worldwide.

However, we don’t want this magazine to feature only the things we want to write about - and that’s where you can help. What would you like featured? Are there things to do with Harrogate Theatre that you’ve always wondered about?

Help us to create a magazine tailored to you and all those who have enjoyed Harrogate Theatre as visitors and patrons over the years. If you have ideas for the next HT Magazine please email me at [email protected]
