The gala has taken place on Belmont Field in recent years, but will now revisit its heritage at Harrogate Railway Athletic Football Club, or the infamous “Dagger”.

The club has donated the use of its field to the gala, and visitors will be able to access the clubhouse facilities and take advantage of the club’s licensed bar.

Nigel Corner, Chairman of Harrogate Railway Athletic Football Club said: “We are delighted to be partnering with Starbeck Gala this year.

“It was always such an important part of Starbeck’s history and we’re happy that we can help to bring it back to its original home, bigger and better than ever before.

“We have fantastic facilities here, so it will be nice for people who may not know about us, to see what we have to offer.”

A spokesperson for the organisers said: “This year’s gala will have the best attractions yet, with live music, dancing, bouncy castles and rides, a mini train, food and drink stalls, plus an all-singing and dancing show from Frozen’s Anna, Elsa, Kristoff and Olaf.

Cinderella will be excused from her cleaning duties for the day and will making a special guest appearance alongside Transformer’s Optimus Prime.

“For those with a penchant for the spectacular, Marko’s Circus Workshop will be offering lessons on plate spinning, juggling and other circus skills. If that’s not enough, energetic older children and adults will love the assault course.”

Tickets will be sold on the door, at £2 per adult, £1 per child aged 2 – 16 and special family tickets for £5 will admit two adults and two children.

The spokesperson added: “Having had a break to accommodate the Tour de France, we are all really excited to be bringing the gala back this year and giving the families and people of Starbeck a fantastic day out.

“We are confirming new attractions daily and will be making announcements on Facebook and Twitter, so watch this space!”
