The Catwalk Cafe on 18 Montpellier Parade is currently being transformed into a fully licensed cafe bar called Prego.

It is not yet know if the new cafe is under the same brand and ownership of the Prego express sandwich bar, which was located on John Street.

However, all is set to be revealed when it opens in the coming weeks.

The Catwalk Cafe was a traditional Yorkshire cafe with a quirky cat theme, which had been open since October 1996.

It was run by Raymond and Moira Osman for 17 years, before they retired and their two daughters, Amy Fearn and Emma Jack, took over the business.

The cafe, which closed on March 7, served homemade food, cakes and coffees and boasted an outside seating area, where diners could often be seen enjoying a treat on a warm day.

The family posted a heartwarming poem on the door of the cafe to thank all their loyal customers over the years.
