Network team clock up miles for hospice

A team cycled nearly 500 miles without moving and have helped to clock up £3,550 for Harrogate-based St Michael’s Hospice.

The ten Network North Business Group members completed the distance over 24-hours as part of the You’re Inspired Charity Challenge last Friday at Prologue Cycling on Cold Bath Road which stayed open for the whole time.

Mark Hodgson, Jane Keogh, Lee Evans, Tom Lawrence, Mike Butterworth, Monica Doherty, Sean Baldwin, Andy Ellis, Mark Fagan and Darren Metcalfe had aimed to cycle 400 miles, the equivalent to travelling between the Tower of London and Edinburgh Castle, on a bike specially supplied by Dewi Winkle of Ripon Wattbike Cycle Studio.

“The cycle ride is one of a number of challenges being undertaken by the Network North Knights in support of St Michael’s Hospice,” explained a Network North spokesman.

“Members of the Network North Group have also recently taken part in a sponsored skydive.

“To date, the team has raised over £3550 for St. Michael’s Hospice.”
