Nando’s to open in Harrogate

Britain’s favourite chicken restaurant is set to open a branch on Parliament Street in Harrogate.

Nando’s announced today its plans to open next to Jamie Oliver’s restaurant in the Harrogate House development.

The move will bring 45 jobs and work to fit out the unit will start immediately.

Property analyst Harriett Renny from developers Lateral Property said: “In the consumer research we carried out, Nando’s was a brand that was clearly in demand.

“We are delighted to have been involved in bringing Nando’s to Harrogate.

She added: “Nando’s will perfectly complement the already popular Jamie’s Italian and The Pit, adding to Harrogate’s strong blend of national chains and independent businesses.”

A spokesperson for Nando’s said: “We’re thrilled to announce we’ll be opening in Harrogate next year.”

The Portuguese chicken restaurant has grown in popularity in recent years, and was recently named as the most popular casual dining brand in Britain.

Nando’s is best known for it’s peri-peri spiced meals and has attracted a devoted following.

A ‘Nando’s for Harrogate’ campaign page was set on Facebook in 2009 and it has attracted more than 2,500 supporters.
