More space on train services

HARROGATE and Knaresborough MP Andrew Jones has welcomed the news that Northern Rail is increasing the number of carriages on the train line between Knaresborough and Leeds.

From Monday, December 12, six peak-time services, three in the morning and three at night, will have extra space, effectively adding more than 220 seats to the route every weekday.

Mr Jones said passenger numbers had risen since Northern Rail took over the line in December 2004 and he often received complaints about standards on the line.
