A man was threatened by two burglars in his own home in Harrogate last night.

Police have launched an appeal for witnesses and information following the incident at a house in the Fairways area of Forest Lane at around 9pm.

Two men entered the property and threatened the occupant, before running off with various items in the direction of the St Andrew’s Church area.

One of the suspects is described as white, aged in his mid-20s, about 5ft 10in tall, slim build and he was wearing dark clothing.

The only description for the second man is that he was darker skinned, also about 5ft 11in tall with a medium build.

Anyone with information about the incident, including possible sighting of the men in the area or other suspicious activity, is urged to contact the police as soon as possible.

A police spokesman said: “This incident is being treated separately to the aggravated burglary which occurred at Allerton Park, near Knaresborough, between 6pm and 7pm on 10 December 2015. There is nothing at this time to suggest a link.”
