Man dies after collapsing in Harrogate pub

A 46-year-old man was pronounced dead at Harrogate District Hospital after collapsing at Wetherspoons on Crescent Road, on Saturday August 14.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service were called to Wetherspoons at 9.47pm following reports that a man was suffering breathing difficulties.

After sending one rapid response vehicle and one ambulance to the scene, the 46-year-old from Glasgow was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

North Yorkshire Police confirmed his death was not being treated as suspicious.

A spokesman for North Yorkshire Police said: “Officers were called at 10.15pm on Saturday 23 August 2014, to Crescent Road, following a report that a man had collapsed.

“On arrival they found a 46-year-old-man from Glasgow, being treated by paramedics. He was taken to Harrogate District Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead.

“There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and no one else is being sought in connection with the incident.”

“We are not in a position to release any further information at this stage.”
