Letter: What's the answer to this age-old problem?
Coun Val Rodgers in her letter to the Harrogate Advertiser of January 28 says it is such good news that the 'We are watching you' campaign has proved so successful.
It is however all very well for dog owners to be seen to clean up after their animals, but the problem then is what they do with the bags?
You only have to take a walk along the many beautiful wooded footpaths in Harrogate and Knaresborough to see quantities of knotted bags hanging in the bushes or simply thrown on the ground.
Perhaps there are not enough dedicated bins for the disposal of the bags or is it a “can’t be bothered” attitude by some dog owners?
