There was great disappointment last year in Pateley Bridge when the traditional nativity scene at Foxes Well did not appear.
This had been a Christmas feature at the well for some ten years but sadly the ravages of time and a concern regarding the electricity supply meant that it could not be repaired and positioned in time for last season’s festivities.
This year the nativity scene is back and what a superb restoration has taken place. The new crib scene, like the old one, was designed by Judie Wallis, from Nidderdale High School, and the intricate wooden carving of the scenery was carried out by Martin Holmes and his son Robert, who did the electics.
All parishioners should go along in the evening to see this wonderful new addition to the town’s Christmas decorations together with those provided by the Nidderdale Chamber of Trade which, as always, makes Pateley Bridge High Street one of the star attractions in the Harrogate District.
